This house owned by Mike & Martha Harding brings out the experience of contractor Jeff Deahl. With over 25 years of experience at adding second story additions to existing houses he has become one of the leaders in building both new and existing additions and remodels.

The Harding's were looking for a way to expand their small lake front, 2 bedroom home.  What they really needed was just more living space on a reasonable budget.  The second story fit the bill.  They enlarged their living space by approximately 450 square feet.  This included a stairway to a spacious living room with large windows overlooking the lake.  The second story has tall vaulted ceilings with wood flooring and beautiful trim.  The view of the lake is a special feature of this second story addition and the surrounding space is cozy and warm, a perfect place to relax.

Second story additions are not easy, commented Jeff Deahl owner of Four Seasons Design and Remodeling.  There are always challenges with load bearing walls and foundations.  It's always a special project to tear off the roof structure of a house without messing up the lower level existing roof.  There are electrical and heating and air-conditioning issues that have to be solved and the aspect of making it look like it hasn't been added on to.  We searched three counties to find the right siding match.  Deahl says when you have fairly recent siding on the existing house and you want the new to look seamless and original like the old the search was worth it  The results were perfect just ask the Hardings.
